A broad concept, BOUND refers to anything that ties us to something external or internal. Maybe our first thought would be to picture someone tied with rope, or in some form of bondage; but a broader interpretation might be to remember we can be home-bound, or snowbound, or bound to memories from the past. We can be bound to a partner, a crush, an idea … or a post. As gay men, we are intimately acquainted with the concept on many levels. At some point or other, through exploration of leather, or a Tuesday night love-making session, we have experienced that feeling of bindings, literally or emotionally … savagely or softly. This is about your interpretation. In Paradise Lost, Milton wrote “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven…” How does your mind affect your ties?
